Volunteer Opportunities

We Are Volunteers that Care.

The Spring Valley Volunteer Fire Department uses volunteers for fire suppression and support functions. You do not have to be a firefighter to be a volunteer. Support functions such as infomation technology, fundraising, recordkeeping, and vehicle maintenance are just as important.

Interested in Joining Our Fire Supression Team?

For those wanting to be part of our response side, you must:

Reside within 10 miles of our training center loacted at 3001 Calaveras Road, Milpitas.
Be a current California EMT or Paramedic
Have recently completed a fire academy at the Firefighter 1 level or above.
Have no felony convictions
Do not have an unsatisfactory driving record
Be able to pass a drug test and backgroud check
Are fit and able to conduct work at an arduous level

Once we have opened recruitment, we will reach back out to those who we would want to come in for an interview. Interest cards are only taken when we are actively recruiting.
