Burning is currently ALLOWED

Burning for the parts of the Milpitas/San Jose foothills that are within the State's Responsibility Area (SRA) is currently allowed.  You still must confirm that it is a permissive burn day with your local air district. The contact phone numbers will appear on your permit.  To obtain a residential burn permit at any time of the year, regardless of the burn status, within the SRA, go to CALFIRES Permit Site.

Spring Valley Volunteer Fire Department

We are a group of volunteers that are dedicated to serving our residents, visitors and surrounding areas with high quality fire supression and BLS medical care.  We maintain constant readiness at all times of the year and repsond to all types of emergencies.

Readiness

More Than Just Responding

Spring Valley Volunteers conduct a regular training schedule that covers structure and wildland firefighting operations, medical emergencies, rescue techniques, and crew wellness.  We participate in training exercises with other agencies, attend specialized fire trainings outside of our agency, and participate in overhead team assignments for large campaign fires.
